OUR ENVIRONMENT
Caring for the natural environment is essential for our health and well-being. This fragile ecosystem is now affected by home and work activities which emit greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. We all benefit by neutralising these greenhouse gases. Recycling and choosing eco-friendly products all help, but growing and preserving trees is one of the best ways to offset these carbon emissions.
Chevron Driving School is committed to carbon neutral principles and is actively involved in bush regeneration. Cleared dry farmland is being transformed into lush green forest. Thousands of native trees have been planted in the Gold Coast hinterland – whilst at the same time reducing our carbon footprint. To ensure these trees survive, time is dedicated to mulching, watering, weed control and general maintenance of each area until they become established.
By planting and protecting native trees we are contributing to a healthy environment for everyone. To our delight these forested areas have become a haven to many native animals. Spotlighting at night has revealed koalas, possums and gliders living in the tree canopies. Bird life in the area is also abundant with over 100 species of native birds recorded.
You’re an absolute wealth of information and a huge inspiration. Thank you for sharing this and all your time. I guess the wildlife of SE Qld would be eternally grateful if they were aware of your enormous input into these projects. - Connie
